KIMBERLEY TURNER
Meditations (2025)
My move to Melbourne in 2017 introduced me to a stark contrast between urban life and the rural landscapes of my Tasmanian upbringing. Through photography, I captured ambiguous compositions that I translated into paintings. On the surface, these vague compositions focus on the play of light and shadow, light refractions, and colour. On a deeper level, they are meditations on the fast-paced, information-filled life in which I’ve found myself here in Melbourne.
